The procedure of Retaining Wall Design generally comprises of following steps:
  1. Assemble the general information: topographical and physical surveys, controlling dimensions;
  2. Analyse the subsoil conditions: Soil Profile;
  3. Establish surcharge loads: railway, highway, building and other structures, earthquake force;
  4. Select type and tentative proportion of wall;
  5. Compute earth pressure and surcharge pressure;
  6. Analyse the structural stability;
  7. Analyse the foundation stability;
  8. Design structural elements;
  9. Select drainage and backfill;
  10. Predict settlement and movement of wall.
